West Parish Church is part of the Protestant denomination known as the United Church of Christ (UCC). The UCC is the result of a union between the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Churches which took place in 1957. The West Parish Church was organized in 1826. Its sanctuary is the oldest continuous worship center in Greater Lawrence. The members of the West Parish Church and the Church itself play a vital role in the life of Andover and the surrounding communities. The Church is active in the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ as well as the life of the national UCC. The West Parish Church has a rich heritage and long history of service, involvement, and commitment to ministry and mission.

  • You are encouraged to explore and participate in any of the Church's activities that interest you.
  • Our regular morning worship is at 10:00 AM each Sunday (September through June) in the sanctuary. Summer services (July through Labor Day, are held at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the West Parish Garden Cemetery. Enter through the cemetery arch and take the left roadway down to the chapel.
  • Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers in the Vestry Building.
  • Children through grade 8 participate in the early part of the service of worship and leave following children's time to attend church school.
  • The sacrament of Holy Communion is observed on the first Sunday of each month and on other occasions deemed proper.
  • Infant and adult baptisms are administered at various times, contact the church office.
