Ministry & Mission: MusicPsalm 96: O Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Music is a vehicle to create sacred space –
a vehicle through which we experience joy, worry, fear, grief and celebration.
There are many opportunities for listening to and creating music at West Parish. The joy of making music together is a special one and we encourage anyone who sings or plays to join in! The Director of Music conducts the adult groups, and Bernadette Baird leads our children. We celebrate our teens who join us for special choral and instrumental music. Frequently, we enjoy guest performers from among our talented congregation and also professional musicians that are friends of our congregation. Music is central to our healing and meditation services held at our West Parish Chapel. If you are interested in joining or starting a group, providing some music for a service, or have any other ideas about the music program we welcome you! Contact the Music Director- Yoo-Kyung Kim.
Organ – The West Parish Church organ was built by Brad Rule of Tennessee in 1992. It contains pipework from several old organs as well as new mechanisms and some new pipework. The faux-walnut grained case was discovered in the attic of the Unitarian Church in Hudson, MA. The organ has two manuals and 21 stops. For more information on our organ www.bruleorgans.com
