Yoo-Kyung Kim

Yoo-Kyung is a native Korean. She earned her BM from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea as a piano performance major and MM from the New England Conservatory in Boston as an organ major. She also studied organ with Russell Saunders at the Eastmann Shool of Music and with Stef Tuinstra in the Netherlands.

Yoo-Kyung had numerous recitals in Boston area, including King’s Chapel, the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston, and the First Church in Cambridge. She also played at the Trinity Church in Boston as a First Night performer.

Yoo-Kyung has taken voice lessons for many years. Her voice teachers include Ivan Oak and Nancy Armstrong. She has been a  member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus (TFC) for 11 years. The TFC performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra throughout the year in Boston’s Symphony Hall and in Tanglewood. She participated in the TFC’s Carnegie Hall performance as well.

Yoo-Kyung is married to B.G. Kim who is a professor at the UMass/Lowell in the computer science department. They have two daughters. Lida works as a restaurant manager in Chicago with her husband Eujung. Clara lives in the Netherlands performing primarily for the Hague String Variations, a string chamber ensemble.
