Rev. Thomas Russell McMillan, Senior Pastor.  As the Senior Pastor, Tom is called by the congregation to direct and lead worship, provide pastoral care and congregational guidance in faith and spiritual matters, and oversee management of the West Parish staff and general operations of the ministries, committees and operations.

Tom was born and grew up just outside Houston, TX.  He attended Brown University, where he majored in Religious Studies and received his A.B. degree in 1970.  Following graduation from Brown, Tom attended the University of Texas Law School and received his J.D. degree in 1972.  He then spent the next fourteen years as a corporate lawyer in Boston and Rhode Island. In 1987, Tom left the corporate world to attend Andover Newton Theological School, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1990.  Following ordination, he served as the Minister of the Grafton Church in Grafton, Vermont from 1990 to 1994.  He then became Minister of the Second Congregational Church in Coventry, Connecticut from 1994 until 2004, when he was called to West Parish Church.  Tom is actively involved in the United Church of Christ at the Conference and Association levels.

Tom’s hobbies include photography, golf, reading (especially history and mysteries), and biking.  When not actually using his camera, he enjoys teaching workshops on Contemplative Photography.  He is married to Nancy and has a son, Nate, and three stepchildren, Lisa, Jason, and Bryan
